Top Day Market News
Volatility was high yesterday as US equities revisited the dismal US unemployment number last Friday and declined sharply on risk aversion. This was reflected by a sharp move higher by the Yen and higher prices for Bonds. S+P experienced its biggest drop in two months. Risk aversion was in full swing. Retail sales will be released at 8:30. US retailers were hammered on Monday, giving up more ground than the general market.
The British Pound will be a focus today as inflation data is released. Higher levels of inflation may push the Bank of England towards tightening sooner.
Yen crosses are back in vogue with risk aversion. Crude remains lower with selling on strength.
