Top Day Market News
Consumer confidence should be the maker mover today. Otherwise, it’s a fairly quiet board but it’s too early to say that the market is just positioning itself for Friday’s unemployment numbers. As the ADP numbers, the private jobs forecast has been gaining greater credence lately, maybe the market is equally concerned with this. This number will be released tomorrow at 8:15 am. The Street is looking for a fairly good number, possibly as high as 195K but again, the revision of the expectation will come tomorrow at around 8:16. The VIX or volatility index is fairly close to a single digit number. If history holds, the VIX stays below 10 for incredibly brief periods of time before “something happens.”
