Platinum is soaring on the fear of supply disruptions.

Market News

Top Day Market News

Mortgage rates and oil inventories today. Yesterday saw a rebound in stocks after the first triple digit Dow loss for the year. Overnight, mixed markets, mixed results. Platinum is soaring on the fear of supply disruptions and South Africa and speculative activity. South Africa accounts for 73% of the worlds output. Palladium is also been pulled higher by this action. Oil is lower in front of this week’s supply numbers. Crude is trading at its lowest price in 13 days as it is discounted to London’s Brent oil. The trade is looking for an increase in crude and gasoline stockpiles at 1030. Anticipation is that oil inventories will rise to a seven week high. The dollar is stronger against most major foreign currencies including the EC and honesty dollar. This is a grain market negative and not particularly helpful to silver. With equities lower bonds trading upwards into resistance levels.
