Top Day Market News
No economic releases until tomorrow. The stock market is been able to stay near record highs even in the face of the uncertainty surrounding the implementation of sequestration because levels of corporate productivity remain very high while there is no wage pressure due to high unemployment levels. At the same time interest-rate levels are incredibly low so this prompts investors to move away from risk-free investments to equities.
More signs of economic retrenchment in China overnight has put light pressure on equities.
