Top Day Market News
Wall Street was looking for +165,000 in nonfarm payroll and instead got a whopping +236,000 in job creation while at the same time the unemployment rate went down to 7.7% from 7.9%. Hours worked was also positive. The only negative in this report is number of disaffected dropping from searching for a job. The number was enabled enabled the stock market to spike higher while taking rates lower. Gold as an alternative investment traded lower well crude oil had a muted response. Of course this number is dollar friendly and the dollar is stronger across the board except for the Loonie. Today’s number will ultimately bring up talk of the Fed reigning in stimulus.
Expect another thrust higher then profit-taking as snow falls in New York City.
