Top Day Market News
The equity market went into over-drive yesterday after the release of the FOMC minutes. Previously, Fed Chairman Janet Yellen in congressional testimony indicated the taper would be over sometime this Fall, there would be an intervening six month time period and then short term rates would be expected to rise. Yesterday, there was no delineation of a time line along the lines of the Yellen suggestion and the market interpreted this to mean the Fed would continue to come down on the side of accommodation for an indefinite time period and the specter of rising rates could be kicked down the road. The dollar was weak across the board and risk assets were aggressively bought with the exception of silver and copper.
Still working through new computer issues but should be solved today.
