Overnight, gold, silver and oil cratered as Chinese economic growth, as measured by GDP, came in at a less than expected 7.7% versus an expectation of 8%. Chinese industrial output was up be 8.9% against an estimate of 10.1%. Silver traded to 2 year lows while gold was trading at levels not seen since April 2011. Selling was also attributable to margin liquidations.
Empire State comes in softer than expected at 3.1%
