Much is expected of Mario Draghi, the ECB President.

6.05.2014

Top Day Market News

Today, fireworks; maybe. It starts early with the 7:00 am release of the Bank of England interest rate decision then quickly transitions to the to the 7:45 am ECB interest rate decision. Much is expected of Mario Draghi, the ECB President, at this moment in time. He is expected to cut rates and possibly even introduce a form of quantitative easing to stimulate the EU economy and counteract deflationary pressures. His follow up press conference will hopefully clarify his operational approach going forward. Running up to this event risk, markets predictably, were quiet overnight.
