Top Day Market News
Today is a fairly light eco release day with just Chicago Purchasing Manager’s Index at 9:45 and the final estimate of Michigan Consumer Sentiment at 9:55.
Overnight, the Nikkei was up by 3.5%. With the recent rallies in stocks, the market is in an overbought situation. In order window dressing is probably already occurred. The comments yesterday from Federal Reserve Gov. Dudley were dovish and supportive for bonds. Going into the opening the market is breaking lower as yields back up. The market will be sensitive to the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index. The yen remains under pressure. It looks like short EC, long yen positions are being unwound.
Enjoy the weekend.
