Top Day Market News
As advertised yesterday, a lower than expected reading for the Chinese Purchasing Managers Index crushed the Aussie and the crude. The oil market was also under duress as output surged to a 22 year high.
The market is looking for weekly unemployment claims to come in higher than expected and for durable goods orders to come in at a robust 0.6%, up from last month’s 3.7%.. This may be too optimistic.
For Europe, the highlight of the data release universe will be UK Gross Domestic Product. This came in better than expected but failed to positively influence the Pound. The Yen is higher on a lower Nikkei while US stock indices are lower on valuation concerns.
