No economic releases today. Busy week though with an FOMC rate decision and the Unemployment number on Friday. Fairly quiet overnight. European equities higher as an Italian bond auction comes off fairly well. Otherwise, UK mortgage approvals decline to the lowest level in 18 months and the EC is lower on a deepening of the Spanish recession.
ECB president Mario Draghi is attempting to be the game changer in the sovereign debt crisis. It’s all a matter of German cooperation with his desires and their willingness to accommodate higher levels of inflation.
