Gold broke through $1,350 an ounce. Gold futures edged higher Tuesday, logging their largest one-day gain in weeks as a drop in the dollar and a decline in the U.S. stock market boosted investment interest in the metal.
Oil futures moved higher Tuesday, with prices hitting a fourth-straight session gain. Oil finding support from a lower U.S. dollar as traders continued to ponder the likelihood of an output-freeze agreement by major producers next month.
The Agriculture Department forecast U.S. corn production to total a record 15.2 billion bushels, while the soybean crop is expected to come in at a record 4.06 billion bushels. Wheat production is forecast at 2.32 billion bushels, up 13% from 2015.
