Top Day Market News
The Summers’ effect which induced a wild overnight rally was fairly short lived. The Nasdaq has turned over and this is most graphically shown by the big outside reversal day of the Nasdaq/ES spread (see chart). There was a pall cast over the trading day as attention was diverted to Washington D.C. and the tragic shootings in the naval yard. Empire State manufacturing was tepid.
The Fed begins its two day meeting with attention centered on the beginning of tapering.
