Top Day Market News

ECB leaves rates unchanged. Weekly jobless claims come in higher than expected. Of course, this probably gets lost in the run-up to tomorrow’s jobless number. Factory orders at 10. Stocks want to continue to grind higher. Buy side only managers are underinvested and are “running out of year” to outperform the benchmark. Gold is banging into the 1800 resistance level. Declining volumes and open interest in gold suggests that “risk on” is heading to the sidelines. Crude cratered yesterday on more signs of Chinese contraction. Crude can trade to 90.75 on a retracement before legging down again. Demand side of the equation is deteriorating while supply side is at 15 year highs. Meanwhile, Iran seems about to come apart at the seams due to a currency spiraling towards oblivion. The major takeaway from last night’s debate is that the race is “back on.”
