China continues to slow.

11.04.2014

Top Day Market News

In the early morning, there was some modest short covering in the currencies against the dollar as equities were slightly lower on consolidation while crude oil continued to track lower.

Today we get factory orders. Not a big number. We continue to look at non-farm payroll at the end of the week as being the statement number to set the tone for the month. The dollar continued to strengthen while the S+P spun in place.

Yesterday, the Yen continued lower as the BOJ continues to expand monetary base. As for the US, the numbers were split: manufacturing activity was higher than expected while construction spending was lower. China continues to slow. Eurozone manufacturing activity is slightly higher than expected.
