Top Day Market News
Unemployment stayed at 5.8% but the job creating number dipped to 214K while the whisper was for a stronger number. This induced short covering in the currencies against the dollar, lower yields and a bump higher in gold. Crude also saw short covering.
As usual with the release of the non-farm payroll number, the following week is light in terms of eco releases. The first number comes in on Wednesday, par example.
Overnight, heading into Monday, more of the same in the wake of the tepid jobs number: short covering in currencies continues for now but not for long. U
